Getting Portuguese D7 Visas

  1. Get a Portuguese fiscal number and open a personal bank account in Portugal (Note: discount code) - DONE
  2. Rent an apartment - DONE
  3. Assemble paperwork
    • Application form - Gail will do
    • Passport - DONE
    • One passport size photo; with blank background, and easily identifiable - DONE
    • Travel medical insurance (this is the most popular): allowing medical coverage, including medical emergencies and repatriation - DONE
    • Portuguese criminal record clearance form - Gail will do
    • Background check with apostle - DONE
    • Proof of sufficient funds, i.e., bank statements for the last six months - DONE
    • Proof of income tax paper for the previous two years - DONE
    • Proof of passive/stable income (which is 705 euros/month, or €8460/year + 50% for spouse, totaling €12690/year) - DONE
    • Portuguese tax number - DONE
    • Portuguese bank account, which has €12690 for both - DONE
    • Cover letter - Gail will do
      • Needs Joel's personal statement
    • Accommodation agreement from Portugal - DONE
    • Marriage certificate - DONE
  4. Send in paperwork
  5. Arrange and attend a meeting with the Immigration & Borders Service – Serviço de Estrangeiros e Fronteiras (SEF) – in Portugal
