Further exploration of the first level.

Large banquet room, with remains of a fight. A few normal weapons salvaged.

Into a kitchen where Diren is attacked by a big snake from the fireplace. Diren officially hates snakes now, after this and the moathouse.

Heading back through and on to new area. Approaching a door with light under it - trigger a pit trap. Open the door into ambush, with more enemies from secret door behind. A sleep spell evens the odds on one side, Gnarsh and Pire handle the other. Heading forward, we deal with a smaller ambush. Pire casts Hold Person on the leader, but we killhum rather than take him prisoner.

Moving forward again, Diren hears a pained scream behind a door. All rush forward and Elmo throws open the door. A bugbear and a armored torturer are killed. We free 2 women, 2 orcs, and 1 tough man who was being tortured. When Gnarsh frees the orcs he tells them, "Just say St. Cuthbert is cool. He's a lot like Grummsh."

Exit the temple with the former captives. Orcs head off on their own. We get dinner with the ladies at their place outside of Nulb, and Diren hangs out with them while the others go into Nulb.

In Nulb, the old herbalist woman gives Spit a poem she found in an old book. The "she" is probably Zuggtomy and it seems collecting some pieces of an orb will be important to go further.

Spend the night in Nulb, healing up.

The next day Pire casts lesser restoration on Diren to help him shake the snake poison effects.
