Big combat with a lot of pirates.

Stinking cloud by Moth causes trouble in one half of pirates. Haunting Mists from pirates spooks Moth.

We charge ashore. Theldin is paralyzed early by hold person and a pirate beheads him with a scimitar.

It's a long, bloody fight. Moth has to retreat and levitate, hiding behind an obscuring mist.

In the end, the captain is paralyzed by Pire, which ends the combat.

We capture a few pirates and the captain. From them we find the other ship and loot nearby. And we find out that the wagon and horses are back in Nulb.

Plan - sail to Verbobonc with Pire's "skeleton crew". Sell off the ship, Raise Theldin. Spit goes back to Nulb to look after our concerns with the hirelings.

A bit of loot is distributed - a dagger +2, a +3 ring of protection, a necklace of natural armor, a cloak of resistance +1 for Theldin. Elmo gets a full share - or perhaps Immervent gets a half share too.

A week later we're bringing the ship into Verbobonc. It's raining heavily.

The pirate captain is handed over to the authorities for a fair reward. We march through the streets to the temple of St. Cuthbert. Paul's coffin mini comes in handy.

While waiting outside the temple for a raise dead to be cast, Diren is approached by a gnome. He explains the gnomish mafia blames him for something complicated involving a half-elf. Gives card for a response. We go stay in the inn and send off the note saying tell us about the job.

Wants us to retrieve Gnomish Cookery, Vol. 16 from Razgad the Ruthless. We know he has a big house. We ask around town - getting info from urchins. Razgad is an unfriendly, intelligent half-orc. Not a noble. He enjoys tormenting the gnomish mafia. Planning a big party soon.

We discuss and plan. Then we bring a fine scotch in a skull shaped bottle to home of Razgad the Ruthless. Then we go visit him - the door is opened by a brass golem. Say we want to meet Razgad. We deal with him and convince him that the best option is to magically booby trap the book and then I'll "steal it" and give it to the gnomes.

Moth collaborates and casts spells on the book. Theldin keeps an eye on Moth and chats with Razgad. He's a former adventurer. Party killed & reanimated by a deceptive necromancer - he had to track them down and kill them all.

The whole thing takes a week - so that Theldin can get his negative levels removed. Then Moth and Theldin walk out invisibly, carrying the
