Sunder Cain is dispatched to register The Lost Lover in our name. At the starship registration counter he grabs some forms and pays his minor fees (50 credits). The ship is renamed to be The Revenant Lark.
Dran'liss spends some time looking up a guide to swamp life on Corellia.
We head to Bren's Garden - a cafe near the space port. We've passed it several times before but paid it no attention. It's in a decent part of the town. A mix of non-humans are there, as well as humans. We take seats in the garden area. A Mirialan waitress comes over. We order a couple of cafs and iced tea.
When the waitress returns, we ask if Jonah left a message for Xutik. She checks - nothing now. Dran'liss asks her to call his comlink if one comes in.
A man named Jonah comes up as we finish... He asks us to come over to his speeder. We do - suspicious. Cain rests his hand on his gun, and Jonah reveals his lightsaber. He's not cackling and crazy of anything.
Datapad to go to Administrator Tactin Vance on the tabana gas mining platform on Bespin. It needs Vance's thumbprint along with Dran'liss's thumbprint to unlock.
If interested in courier jobs on the planet - contact on such and such frequency and give our ship name. Someone will contact us with the message if they need something delivered. Payment is 1000 credits, half up front, half payable at the start of the next pickup. 500 credit bonus for getting it there reasonable but tight timeframe.
Jonah departs - we calculate we probably have about a day leeway and still make the deadline.
We load up the Revenant Lark and head to the Crystal Swamps of Agrilat. It's about 1000 miles north - a small spaceport, a few hotels, seedy bars. Area caters to nature tourists and swoop bikers.
We go looking for swoop bike races. It's not long before we can hear the engines and find an open field with some racers "talking shop". Cain asks them about how to get into a race... it's not terribly formal, go out to the start area (coordinates) and a guy there handles registration and betting.
We rent a cheap speeder and get a free nature tour map with some warnings, then fly out toward the race start a few minutes outside of town. Cain takes advantage of the trip to give the swoop a quick shakedown cruise.
We get Cain registered - all they want is a name and a small fee. Dran'liss and Xutik both bet some money on the race and Cain gets ready. Cain is racing against a green twi'lek and a human with a purple helmet. The human gets out to an early lead, Cain struggling to keep up, the twi'lek falling behind. The twi'lek's swoop quickly breaks down and slams into a rock pillar he was passing. The purple helmeted human has to dodge a giant snake and is slowed by it. Cain zips past a horrible swamp monster and makes up a little speed. He takes the lead as the human scrapes against a shack. The human catches up and they come across the line at almost the same time, but the purple helmeted human just edges Cain out. We lose our money, but Cain is invited to race in the big race of the day anyway since it was so close.
It's a race with Cain, the purple helmeted human, a grey twi'lek, a rodian, and white helmeted human. The twi'lek gets off the line first while Cain backfires and kills the swoop. Cain restarts the swoop guns the engine and gets out into the pack. As they race, white helmet starts dropping behind. The pack spreads out - Cain and the twi'lek side by side followed by the rodian and purple helmet, then trailing further the white helmet.
Both the twi'lek and Cain are intimidated by the swamp beasts, but the twi'lek is able to cut close the beast and pulls ahead. The rodian punches a swamp snake but is still delayed by it.
Xutik and Dran'liss spot a guy with a rifle on another rock. He's a ways from Xutik who goes waddling back to the start line. Dran'liss watches the sniper and tries to mime to Cain as he zooms by, but Cain doesn't understand. Dran'liss notices the sniper shooting a pile of explosives by the track. He misses and Vekbaar runs over to disarm the pile of explosives.
The race finishes out with the twi'lek in the lead and Cain lagging behind. Xutik spits a foul yellow fluid on the ground.
As Xutik comes in, he tells the race watchers about the sniper - but when people go out to look he's gone.
Cain takes the swoop back to the ship while Dran'liss, Xutik, and Vekbaar head out to the crystal swamps. Dran'liss guides us through the swamp, looking at the plants for poisonous samples.
A Klatoonian jedi approaches us - introduces himself as Rokar Ton. The Jedi and Dran'liss talk about crystal plants and the jedi is looking into how they might work for lightsaber crystals. Dran'liss gathers poisons while Xutik gathers bits of crystal leaves and twigs. Then the group walks with the Jedi as he and Dran'liss talk. As we part, he provides some communication information to Dran'liss.
After a hard day of play we take ship to Bespin. Dran'liss has a nice quick navigation path to Bespin.
On the way - Xutik fixes up the swoop and adds crystals to his room decor. Dran'liss extracts the poisons from the plants and reloads his rifle ammo.
Bespin is a gas giant in a busy sector. There was a big battle at Hoth last year, and this sector has a lot of systems relatively closely packed. Cain pilots the ship into the atmosphere and brings us onto a docking platform. We're instructed to make it quick, as things are hectic and busy.
We enter into the Bespin mining platforms. After a minute, an Ugnaught comes out - "Are you the courier?" Dran'liss says yes and we're lead away. We follow with Cain loosening his blaster flap. We meet Administrator Vance, the thumbprint system acknowledges.
A bit of local trouble, the Ugnaught says. Vance tells us to hurry off. We head out, blasters out. We try to find our way to the landing bay. On the path, we encounter angry dockworkers. Cain directs them off in a random direction as we huddle against the corridor wall. We end up heading back to the landing bay and encounter 4 guys busting into a door - Xutik instinctively hides behind a box in the corridor, Cain notices it's a clinic and suspects they're junkies.
Cain blasts the wall near them and tells them to stand down. The men turn toward us and brandish their weapons - a knife, a pipe, and a couple of vibroblades. Cain then tells them there's a bunch of security headed this way - he's very convincing and the junkies take off running. Combat avoided.
We then head back to the ship, load up and take off. Course is set to Jiroch. Jiroch is a planet inhabited by Tunroths. We're encouraged to leave blasters on the ship, but we won't be searched.
We land at the Duto Duto starport, pay our minor docking fees and walk among the Duros there. A couple shops on the way out - local foods and a hunting store. Dran'liss walks into the hunting store, and the young couple running the shop give him a confused local. Dran'liss introduces himself and the shopkeepers are surprised. There was a day of mourning coming up, and he was national hero. They want to take Dran'liss to the "Assemblage of Three".
Dran'liss heads off in their speeder with them and Vekbaar. Meanwhile Xutik, Bib, Cain, and CM-4628-B head to The Last Burden (a bar).
Dran'liss's party ends up a large building 15 minutes away. There are some guards outside who the hunting store couple convince to let them in. In a large meeting room, Dran'liss is introduced to the Three. It is explained the right to rule is based on hunting prowess, and these are the rulers. They inquire about how this happened that Dran'liss is thought dead. He tells a long winding story that has some resemblance to the truth but basically explains that he wants to be thought dead for now. They would like Dran'liss to commemorate his visit to the planet, and offer to teach him about talar, their hunting poison. Dran'liss gives them signed dart shells and quickloaders. And would be honored to have dinner with them, along with his friends.
Back with Xutik, et al. - we notice it's really quite for an afternoon in most places. But the bar is packed. Cain gets a seat and order a glass of strong real local liquor. Xutik passes a note with a broken gear on it to the bartender and gestures outside. They head outside to talk - Xutik drops off the droid with him as instructed.
At this point Cain and Xutik are invited to dinner with Dran'liss and the Three. We head over and reunite - and feast and drink. After the meal we head over to the Hall of Predation - a giant museum, an ancient Tunroth momument to the sacred hunters.
The Tunroth also teach Dran'liss some archery skills and give him a Tunroth bow, one for a child to compensate for his strength.
