Vreln is a contemplative dwarf from the Earthspur Mountains far to the north. He's not usually gregarious, but he does develop close friendships.

Lately, he's been working as an independent mercenary in the nearby Border Kingdoms, skirmishing with goblinoids that have been troubling the region. During one of those battles, the shortbow that had been given to him by his mentor was snatched from the saddle by a crafty goblin, whom he has tracked south to a lair in the hills near the mining town of Red Rock in the Elsir Vale.

He is from a wealthy family, which is evident in his rich clothing and the fine warhorse he rides.
