Inner Lower Cavern
This chamber is similar in appearance to the outer chamber, with frosty cobwebbed walls. To one side of the chamber are the frost-encased carcasses of three rabbits, and a large iced feathery wing and hoofed leg which likely came from a hippogriff. To the other side of the chamber is a pair of leathery, empty eggshells against one wall, each the size of a melon. A DC 20 Arcana check recognizes them as similar to dragon eggs. On inspection, the eggs are filled with a sticky weblike substance, which can be recognized (DC 15 nature or DC 20 arcana) as empty spider eggsacs. Quite a large number of small spiders could be born from that number of spider eggs.
A DC 20 perception check notices scattered older eggshell fragments, which a DC 25 arcana or nature check recognizes as being from some sort of dragon/spider hybrid.
