Sense Motive

  • player rolls Sense Motive
    • if NPC is trying to deceive the PC, the DM rolls Bluff, which is the DC the player must beat.
    • if the NPC is making no effort to deceive or inform the PC, the player must beat a DC 20.
    • if the NPC is actively trying to convey that they need help/are trustworthy/otherwise aren't trying to deceive, the DM rolls Diplomacy. Player is trying to beat DC 20. If NPC beats DC 10 on Diplomacy check, then the player gets a +2 bonus.
