- When approaching in the air, will be menaced by a flight of 12 griffons, who will fly up from the forest, in a wall formation 3 top and bottom in lines, 3 left and right in triangles, keeping about 30' between eachother (could get up to 3 in a fireball). Can be spotted, lifting off from the trees 120' away with DC 12 spot. Will individually retreat at 18 or more points of damage, and if half the flock is out of the fight, the rest will also retreat.
- Most buildings circular, with coincal thatched roofs, clustered together. Some longhouses
- former population about 700
- now ruined (attacked and burned)
- long grass and rough earth fills the plain, with the dirt and tops of the grass covered in snow
- main notable feature:
- The Guildhall: A grand timber and brick building, decorated with finely carved friezes. It contains a large meeting hall and several smaller rooms
- Located in a clearing roughly 10 miles across - from the center, can just barely see the trees surrounding it on the horizon. An enormous herd of 4000 oxen, steaming in the cold air, around 900 feet across, stand or lay, chewing the grass. The largest of them isn't hard to spot (DC 10).
- Roll 1d12 for direction of the herd, 1d6 for distance from center of plain.
- roll 1d10 for location of giant bull - 1-8 clockwise like tictactoe, 9 or 10 in center.
- if stampede occurs, could cause either 4d10 damage if there's a way to get clear, or 10d10 if no way, DC 15 dex save for 1/2 damage.
- overland travel with the bull is normally 48 miles, travelling 10hours/day, which is rather tiring. trackless prairie is no trouble, but trackless forest is half speed.
