AshardalonGM / DealingWithTheNorthmen
- Only worshippers of Vatun need to leave
- Frost barbarians - party might be able to convince Telchur that they can stay
- Strongly allied with ratik, king married to a ratik noblewoman - maybe country could be absorbed into ratik
- Ratik might need to take over the rest of the grendep bay shores - somebody has to be in charge
- Snow barbarians are the best sailors, possibly in the entire world
- there are 10% dwarves in the kingdom - those could provide leverage for barbarians to move out - would ofc need to do a quest for the dwarves to win their support
- barbarians have island settlements, although those aren't calm
- they want the treasures there - so we can't loot everything. take out the strongest problems, claim the choicest treasures, leave the lesser of both to the barbarians
- barbarians have enemies to the south - stir up these against them
- could deal with problems on the islands for the barbarians, make those more attractive settlements
- cause political problems between the three tribes so none support the other two - with frost, not too hard, since the snow took them over for a while
- simple payments of lots of gold are useful, and shipbuilding to move the people, and weather control for good sailing
- also, use leverage of promising to have Vatun freed
- snow king might move against frost king - during this attempt, there may be a chance to take him out, and then the snow tribes will have a leadership problem
- stonehold might also be able to be stirred up against snow barbarians
- monsters from hanging glacier attack on a 20 year cycle - 576, 596 etc - hanging glacier is sacred to Telchur, too!
- Ice barbarians aren't united
- tundra tribes are taxed by the ice barbarians, maybe could be stirred up
- least numerous of the three nations
- sea barons are historical rivals of the nation
- consider themselves the most noble, have historical importance, not likely to give up if they have any choice whatsoever
- distrust the "low-born" frost barbarians - maybe could promise the ancient crown to the frost barbarians in return for ignoring attacking the ice barbarians
- stonehold doesn't like ice barbarians
- personal combat might be an option to get important noble to leave
